Walnut Village: Living the Ranch Heritage
The community is named after Irvine Ranch’s most important crop “English Walnut.” It was built in early 1970s on 229 acres of land. Today there are almost 2663 homes in seven gated and non-gated subtracts. It was built with idea to provide families a safe area where kids can enjoy interactive outdoor activities. There are two large community parks namely Colony Park and 27-acre Harvard Athletic Park which includes seven baseball diamonds, four batting cages, four soccer fields, restrooms and Irvine Skate Park. These parks have pools with spa, grassy areas, tot lots, playgrounds, bike trail, multi-purpose building, and BBQ and picnic area. The five neighborhood parks are called Harvard Circle Park, College Park, Incredible Edible Park, Flagstone Park and Windwood Park.

Many successful people have come out of the schools that serve Walnut Village namely College Park Elementary School, Venado Middle School and Irvine High School. It is a well-established community with a history of its own. Heritage Plaza and Heritage Square are resourceful shopping and dining centers. There are several neighborhood shopping areas catering to all sorts of facilities. It is only a short drive away from major shopping malls like Culver Plaza and Marketplace and Tustin Center.
