It is a large suburban residential development of almost four square miles. The construction began by The Irvine Company in 1975 and completed in 1990s with almost 40 sub tracts. In the center of both housing areas is a broad lane of retail, commercial and institutional development. All sub tracts are connected by a four-lane circular loop road. The architectural style is Cape Cod and Shed style that give it ambiance of a sea side village. It is a grand community with 24 Tennis Courts most of them have lighting facility for night games, abundance of recreational parks almost 40 in number, 22 pools, bike trails, walking trails, restaurants and shopping facilities. Schooling is another plus point as it has five elementary schools, two middle schools and a high school.

The boundary of Woodbridge is made of pine trees and a 20 foot high hedge. It is located in east of 405 freeway and is bounded by neighborhoods like Westpark, Oak Creek and Deerfield. It is also connected to Irvine Center and Culver drive.
